I totally impressed my five year old this morning when after I finished the last page of "Breaking Dawn" he asked me with eyes the size of quarters, "Wow Mom, are you proud of yourself??" It is a little thicker than most books I read, but I didn't tell him that it was a totally fast, easy read about bloodsucking vampire lovers.....he thought it was a book about chess (or checkers as he kept calling it).

Last night Luke came to the couch for his bedtime story looking like this, he'd put the hat on himself. I cracked up, and had Isaac grab the camera and take this pic, more for Adam than anything. Adam finished up training in Georgia (USA) this week and left for Iraq yesterday. I heard from him last night when he arrived in Bangor, ME, where a line of old veterans had greeted as they got off the plane. I wish I could have been there, I got a little choked up when he was telling me about it. We talked while they refueled in Bangor, and then they left for Germany. He should have arrived there this morning, and flying to Kuwait sometime today. And I'm not sure from there....or when we'll hear from him next, hopefully it won't be too long.

We survived another week, so 2 weeks down and I'm trying not to think about how many more to go. The new septic was finished up on Thursday, now I'm just waiting for my yard to get put back together. Hopefully next week, I can't take much more mud and dirt tracked in the house!

Em, Sarah, Isaac and I went school clothes shopping yesterday. That was our 2nd time out and I think we've pretty much finished! Yeah!! I can only take so much of that. Em still needs a few more things, but we're going to finish up after school starts, in case there's some new fashion out this year that we don't know about yet.

That's pretty much all around here, other than I'm still trying to get my dose of prozac every day so I don't lose my sanity and am ready for the marathon in Oct. I've been having to go early in the morning before anyone wakes up (and if they do, they know to wake Emma--and I have my cell w/me, don't anyone freak out, she is ELEVEN now).

We went to DC this morning and I thought of you. We do have room for you (and the kids) to stay, and the bus & metro to downtown are pretty close- so you can avoid driving in on marathon day!

I leave Kason with the kids too....so no freaking out here! It is so nice to finally have a little light at the end of the tunnel...don't you think?

Luke is the cutest little guy I've ever seen. You can come visit us if you get bored or lonely! PS, I heart those books.

What a little cutie, I think he is in your family to keep you laughing. Tell Adam I get a lump in my throat to for him.

I didn't realize that internet explorer doesn't allow updates on your page for some reason. So, I decided to just see if anything new happened. Wow, a lot since June. You have such a wonderful life. I love to read about it. Your family pic is awesome!

That made me laugh out loud reading about you finishing "Breaking Dawn". My kids probably think I'll never finish it. It is good though.

You & Adam and the kids are in our family prayer every day. Keep us posted on what he's doing over there when you have time. You are amazing! And then you're running a marathon on top of it all. Go B!!
