The vacation-surgery has been post-ponned!!
I'm totally disappointed! I was supposed to leave next Monday for Hawaii for surgery on my leg. I had the kids all squared away and everything, but then we realized last weekend that Adam hadn't gotten Luke's passport yet. It's been sitting on his desk at work for the past 4 1/2 months, and only he, being the sponser, could apply for it....need I say more? He felt really bad though, and is working on the "pay extra-expedited process" now, and hopefully it'll all get rescheduled for end of February, right after our marathon. I was a little worried about running it 1 mo. after the surgery anyway, so maybe it's for the best, hopefully the sitter situation will all work out again.
Adam has been in trial all week so we haven't seen much of him. Another rape case.
I was so excited for school to start this week!! But then everyone has been taking turns getting sick, one at a time, so I haven't even had a day alone yet!! (alone=only me and Luke) First it was Jacob, then Sarah, then Isaac and Luke, then today was Emma. And Adam's coming down w/it tonight...not me though, I've decided I'm NOT getting this one.
Well, other than the usual craziness, Duchess shredding 5 diapers all over the house today after I emptied my bathroom trash, but it was still sitting in the hall waiting to go out, and everyone taking turns being sick, not much else is new. Just trying to keep the house "sanitary", gave up on "clean" about 2 kids ago.

Wow! That's where we're at, Iwakuni! My husband is Marine too. How did Eric like Iwakuni, was it while you were married, or before? Good job on the 1/2 marathon. I have never done one, just the 10k, so we'll see next month...

Eric was there the year before we met, in fact we met on his leave between Iwakuni and North Carolina....He really liked it but was pretty lonely, you know the Marines isn't really mormon friendly if you know what I mean, at least in the single aspect of it....Then we were stationed in Camp Leijune NC for 2 years. Military life is pretty crazy that is for sure, I don't know how you do it with a family and all. Eric got out 2 months before our first child was born. I really miss the friends we made and have kept in touch with a couple of them but for the most part haven't been really good about it.

The half marathon was great!!! You will Love it and you will do great!!! It was my fourth one so I am excited to step it up a little and train for my full in April!!! Good Luck!!!! When is it??

Oh I was going to ask what type of surgery you were having on your foot??? I hope all goes well with that......Have a good night....

We always comment that living here is a great place for families, but would suck as single marine. So far away from home, they can't drive, and especially for a mormon single marine, that would be hard. There are a few single marines in our branch, I know one especially is always getting harrassed by his peers for not drinking, etc. He shared in his testimony last month that some marines actually tried to force some acohol down him. Sad. Anyway, it's a great place for families though, so much to do, we love it here. But I can see Where Eric may have not loved it.
That's interesting you lived in NC, we may end up there next??
Good job on the 1/2, my race is Feb. 18. We have slacked off a little lately, but now I'm just telling myself it's ok because we should be tapering by now anyways. But I do wish we'd worked up our long run a little longer. Oh well, I'm sure we'll finish, as long as there are no injuries. I'm getting really excited for it, the route goes through a lot of famous Tokyo sites, it should be fun!!
