Becky has been a little busy lately so a quick post from me to give you an update on us. I found this pic on the internet. Becky was happy because she had been a little disappointed that I didn't want to run with our camera. We can even buy this pic for a bargain price of $100.
We have unofficial orders to depart on July 2nd, and to check in at naval justice school on August 1st. That gives us about a month to vacation and see family and friends. I know Becky has contacted some of you about some dates, but everything at this point is tentative. If you know us then you should know better than to start making non-refundable arrangements involving us.
It occurred to me today that we should be in Salt Lake for the days of '47 10k. That is a really fun race that we ran in 2003. It starts at University research park and ends in Liberty park. Last time we ran it my mom and dad walked the 5k with Emma, who was dressed as a pioneer. At the end of the race my mom said she wanted to run it the following year. Well, this isn't the following year, but I told Emma that her Grandma Jeannie wanted to run the pioneer 5k with her this summer and she is really excited about it. You have a few months to get ready for it, mom. Don't let the little girl down.
Tonight Becky had the relief society birthday bash, so I took the kids to the gym and turned them loose while I played hoops. Before she left, Becky told me to have them in bed by 8, but whatever, the kids are never in bed by 8. Plus, I didn't expect her home from the event until well after nine. I can't tell you the dread I felt when at 8:00 I looked across the gym and she was staring at me mouthing "you better find your own ride home." The game quickly ended and she wasn't as mad as I had feared.
The kids are doing well, Luke is growing like a weed and putting on weight now that we are giving him formula as well as nursing. Emma is in the middle of her big standardized testing for the year. She came home today feeling really good because she thinks she only missed two questions. The kids found a big bloody fish on the side of the house this afternoon, and it was still alive, flipping around, gasping for air. They were the neighborhood center of attention. No idea how it got there, the kids claim that a big bird flew over and dropped it on the lawn.

do you think your neighbors don't like you if you find dead fish on your lawn? cya mel
No Felony, because I live in Japan and if one of my neighbors gave me raw fish it was a token of goodwill.
